Quick Start with SkinPen® Precision Elite

Understanding Your SkinPen  Precision Elite

Charging Your SkinPen  Precision Elite

  • Plug the SkinPen inductive charging base into a wall outlet.
  • Place the SkinPen Precision Elite handpiece on the charging base with the Interactive Digital Display (IDD) facing up.
  • Handpiece is fully charged in approximately 8 hours.

Note: Create a habit of placing the handpiece on its charging base after every treatment.

Installing the SkinPen  Precision Elite

BioSheath

  • Insert the handpiece between the white tab and the paper backing.
  • Gently push the handpiece through BioSheath until it is snug, leaving a 0.25” overhang over the metal end.
  • Peel back the protective BioSheath cover by pulling on the blue tab and white paper backing.
  • Remove adhesive backing and seal end.

Powering on SkinPen  Precision Elite

  • Power on by pressing the power on/off button on the front for one second.

Note: This only turns the device on. The motor will only turn on when a treatment is started after a new, validated Elite Cartridge Unit is installed.

Installing the SkinPen  Precision Elite Cartridge Unit (ECU)

  • Install the ECU when prompted on the screen.
  • Align the unlock symbol ( 🔓) on the cartridge with the triangle symbol () at the top of the handpiece. The ECU will drop onto the handpiece.
  • Rotate the ECU clockwise until the lock symbol (🔒) is aligned with the triangle.
  • When locked, the Start Treatment image will appear on the LCD screen.

  • If either of these images appear on the LCD screen, install a new ECU to proceed with the treatment.

Note: The SkinPen Precision Elite features SkinPen Connect, a digital recognition software to ensure sterile, single-use microneedling cartridge application.

Starting the Treatment

  • From the Start Treatment screen, press the power on/off button for one second.
  • When treatment is in progress, the Elite Efficiency Timer shown will begin counting.

Note: The Elite Efficiency Timer (EET) allows providers to maintain efficiencies among treatment rooms and staff to optimize ROI

Adjusting Treatment Depths

  • Firmly place your thumb on the lock symbol before changing the depth.
  • Rotate the depth cup according to indicated depth settings.
  • Start treatments at a depth setting of 0.25mm and increase by increments of 0.25mm until the clinical endpoint of even erythema and/or mild pinpoint bleeding is achieved.

Pausing & Resuming the Treatment

  • To pause treatment at any time, press and release (less than one second) the power on/off button. The motor and Elite Efficiency Timer will pause.
  • To resume treatment, press and release (less than one second) the power on/off button. The motor and Elite Efficiency Timer will resume.

Important: When the treatment is paused, pressing and holding the button for longer than one second may unintentionally end the treatment, rendering the cartridge unusable.

Ending the Treatment

  1. PAUSE
    When treatment is complete, pause the device by pressing and releasing (less than one second) the power on/off button.
  2. END
    Then, press and hold the power on/off button for three seconds. A prompt to remove the ECU will be shown on the LCD screen, and the ECU will then be unusable.
  3. REMOVE
    After two audible beeps from the device, remove the ECU. The device will automatically turn off.

Cleaning Your SkinPen  Precision Elite

  • Do not use solvents such as ammonium to clean the handpiece. This can cause damage to the device. Do not immerse the device in liquids.
  • Sani-Cloth AF3 wipes should be used to clean the SkinPen Precision Elite handpiece after each treatment.
  • Sani-Cloth AF3 wipes may also be used to clean the SkinPen Precision Elite Charger Base.

Contact Time: Leave surfaces wet for 3 minutes. Let air dry. Do not reuse towelette.

Storing Your SkinPen Precision Elite

  • For optimal performance of your SkinPen Precision Elite, ensure the handpiece is turned off and stored in the inductive charging base when not in use.
  • If the handpiece is left ON without an ECU attached and not connected to the inductive charging base, the device will automatically shut off after 15 minutes.
  • If the handpiece is left ON with the ECU attached and not connected the inductive charging base, the device will begin beeping after 30 minutes. The beeping will continue until the treatment is resumed or the handpiece is properly stored on the inductive charging base.
